The Unit Bridge concept is a solution composed of 2 different components which goals are to produce useful and reliable information.
It is composed of a Data Factory which is operated in an Industrial Back-Office
The Data Factory provides the agility, flexibility and the speed to process any type of data into useful information:
- The responsibility of existing systems remains unchanged. Each source system is represented by a Single Point of Contact (SPOC)
- SPOC’s are asked to send the results of these systems periodically. Only useful data is transmitted.
- Data is stored and data sources are connected in a “Datafarm” that reduces the number of reconciliations and ensure traceability of the data. Data is also archived a on periodic basis.
- Specific Data Quality processes will identify gaps and problems within and between different sources. The processes will suggest corrections to the SPOC creating a positive feedback loop that increases the quality in each source.
- Specific Enrichment processes create useful information based on documented models and assumptions to ensure traceability. e.g.: alerters, ratings, simulations, forecasting models.
- An industrial reporting environment produces:
- Reports using a single source for the current period to ensure that the data and statistics are correct & be endorsed by the SPOC.
- Reports mixing different sources and/or different periods that will be endorsed by the users
- Industrial reports normalized according to an established production schedule
- Industrial dashboards aligned with reports
- Opportunity to use non structured data sources (pdf, word...) to enrich the Datafarm.
The Industrial Back Office provides the rigor, the necessary controls and the recurrence to ensure the production of trustful information on a periodic basis:
- Definition of an industrial plan and schedule
- Description of all activities in industrial procedures
- The execution by operational resources
- The industrial follow-up of activities and exceptions in Back Office management tools and production meetings
Together, they produce trustful information, anytime, anywhere.
